Preparing for MooseFS Installation
Before installing MooseFS, it's important to prepare your environment to ensure a smooth and successful deployment. Taking the time to verify system compatibility, plan your architecture, and set up the necessary network and hardware components can help avoid common issues later on.
Before proceeding, make sure to review the Requirements chapter to confirm that your hardware, operating system, and network setup meet the minimum and recommended specifications for MooseFS.
In this chapter, we’ll walk through the key steps to prepare each system for installation. This includes configuring the operating system, preparing storage disks, setting up DNS resolution, and adjusting system settings such as the CPU power governor. Completing these steps in advance will help ensure your MooseFS nodes are ready for a stable and efficient deployment.
